Wedding invitation wording is a place where you might want to get creative… but not TOO creative. No matter what beautiful form they come in they still need to convey some basic information. From formal to casual, the wording on your invitation should correspond with the formality of your wedding and tone you’d like to set.

Basically, every wedding invitation should include these elements: host line, couple getting married, request line and event details (time, date and location). Additional header and footer can be added if necessary.

Below are the basic invitation wording templates, divided into three part based on who’s hosting the wedding. The first names your guests will see on your wedding invitation are those of the people who are paying for the event. The word within braces “{ }” is optional and replace the word within bracket “[ ]” with your own details.
